RE Power Plant Income and Expense Breakdown
A purchaser of a qualifying renewable energy power plant has the opportunity to reduce the large capital cost with the
application of Federal, State and Private Grants and Incentives, as well as have the option to wholesale Renewable Energy
Credits and Carbon Offsets.
It is not the scope of this document to provide expert analysis for all of these components, nor is the above list
comprehensive.
It is important to note that Renewable Energy Credits have a tangible cash value for RE Plant owners whom do not have to
meet Mandated Renewable Portfolio Standards, which can be directly applied against the purchase cost of the initial capital
cost of the Power Plant. These factors result into a cost per kilowatt hour of electricity which is application specific.
